Apple's iPhone 15 Rumors and Leaks: What to Expect

Apple released its iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models in September 2022, but even before they hit the market, rumors about the upcoming iPhone 15 had already started swirling. While the iPhone 15 is still a few months away from its official launch, it's no surprise that leaks and speculations have surfaced, considering the multitude of suppliers involved in Apple's supply chain. This time, we anticipate four iPhone 15 models, with two 6.1-inch iPhones and two 6.7-inch iPhones. Among them, one 6.1-inch model will be the standard iPhone 15, while the other 6.7-inch model will be the iPhone 15 "Plus." The remaining two variants will be higher-end "Pro" models, offering exclusive features.

In line with previous years, the iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to receive the best features, making them stand out from the standard iPhone 15 models. One notable change rumored across all iPhone 15 devices is the replacement of the Lightning port with a USB-C port. Additionally, the iconic notch is likely to be replaced by the Dynamic Island, offering a sleeker and less intrusive design for the front-facing camera system. Apple's decision to use Qualcomm modem chips for the iPhone 15 is a departure from previous speculations about in-house modem chips, which are still under development. The inclusion of new UWB chips might also facilitate integration with the Vision Pro headset.

The standard iPhone 15 models will receive an upgrade to the A16 chip, while the Pro models will boast the faster and more efficient 3-nanometer A17 chips. Furthermore, the Pro models may feature titanium frames, slimmer bezels, and other design enhancements, including curved device edges. There are also whispers about the iPhone 15 Pro Max receiving periscope lens technology for improved zoom capabilities.

In terms of pricing, Apple is expected to maintain the same starting prices for the iPhone 15 models as seen in the iPhone 14 lineup. The entry-level 6.1-inch model will likely start at $799, while the larger 6.7-inch model, the iPhone 15 Plus, might begin at $899. While some design elements will remain similar to the iPhone 14, the removal of the notch and the introduction of the Dynamic Island are the major aesthetic changes anticipated in the iPhone 15 lineup. Additionally, the transition to a USB-C port will enable Apple to comply with new European regulations.

The iPhone 15 Pro models could see more substantial design upgrades, including thinner and more curved bezels than the iPhone 14 Pro models. Renderings and leaked images have provided glimpses of these design changes. However, both the standard iPhone 15 models and the Pro models are rumored to come in new colors, with dark pink and light blue options alongside the traditional black, white, and PRODUCT(RED) variants.

Apple's decision to maintain Face ID instead of reintroducing Touch ID is consistent with previous reports. The iPhone 15 models will support MagSafe charging and the new Qi2 standard, allowing for faster wireless charging even from non-MagSafe third-party accessories. Reports also suggest that Apple will adopt Sony's latest "state of the art" image sensors for improved camera capabilities.

Overall, the iPhone 15 is expected to build upon the successes of its predecessor, the iPhone 14, with some exciting upgrades and design changes. As we wait for its official release, rumors and leaks will undoubtedly continue to fuel anticipation and speculation. In short iPhone 15 will be an amalgamation of newest technologies, high-end price features and design and color sleekness that is characteristic of Apple products.
